It wasn’t until 1994, after hearing Ready To Die, by the Notorious B.I.G., and spitting lyrics with the same fire as Nas that he felt he could rap with the best of them. Pretty soon, he'd take his weekly allowance money and purchase cassette tapes and CDs of everyone from Scarface, Common and Redman to his all-time favorite, Jay-Z.
But it wasn’t until he met friend/music collaborator Ransom RegAL in 1997 that he began to feel he could pursue a career in rap. Along with Ransom, Mr. Write entered a group with high school classmates, to form 5 M.I.C.S. After 5 M.I.C.S went their separate ways to pursue other dreams, Mr. Write moved to Atlanta and formed the group Chi.ILL factor with college friends Prez, Kevo and GEO. After having a thrilling ride with Chi.ILL factor, Mr. Write realized that his dream of pursing rap full time was a solo mission and knew it was time to embark on a musical journey by himself. Making sacrifices along the way, Mr. Write has experienced the scams and pitfalls of the industry. But through perseverance, self motivation and faith in his ability to be the next big thing, Mr. Write is confident the world is finally ready for what he has to give.
His latest album entitled, Perfect Penmanship is a synopsis of his life, talent, and aspirations within the music industry. The project is just the prelude to the many chapters of a book of artistry Mr. Write has in store for the game. His lyrics hug the curves of music effortlessly like a top of the line whip on an open road. He is versatile in his approach and brings a refreshing sound of musical purity to each of his songs. Proving his determination for success and his thirst for finally providing a fresh sound in the game, he’s letting his peers know he’s not staying in his lane, there’s plenty of road for everyone.
