As we embark on a new yearAs well as a new era in hip-hop,The game has changed dramatically.Going from the complete domination byThe east and west coast’s. The torch has been passed,As the south and mid-west profess their mark in theRadical yet diverse art form of MC’ing. In this transition elements of the hip-hop cultureHave been pushed aside, one such element (A core element) Is MC’ing. There has been a change in the conventional MC, Forms of storytelling and songs with meaning, purpose and a message for its people, have truly become non-existent, But for one MC from Queens the traditional way is the only way.Anonamous Namm was born in the music capital Of the world, Harlem NY, shortly relocating to Staten Island NY where he would spend most of the early years of his life before moving to Farrockaway Queens. In Farrock the hardships and struggles of everyday life, Gave way to new challenges as well as an extreme dose of reality. As an average Black youth from NY the streets mean teaching methods are all too common. Challenges faced and surpassed this young man would fight and grind his way to manhood.Born the son of a musician, Namm would develop a love for music at an early age. A love for the rhythm and blues and a passion for hip-hop. The inspiration of Doug E Fresh, The Get Fresh Crew, Slick Rick, Run-DMC, LL Cool J, To Wu-Tang, The Geto Boys, BDP, And Redman,ETC… Namm perfected his craft by entering into freestyle battles, house parties, and just rocking the mic every chance that presented itself. Namm would soon join forces with another local Rockaway MC Poormanson forming the group now known as Deadbroke. The two men set out to be the best duo to ever grace a mic. Yet even hustling on a daily basis provided little capitol for studio time, and compounding the problem were major labels that turned them away stating “Your talented, but we need radio cuts.’, it was decided that they would be taking matters into their own hands, spawning Deadbroke Records an independent record company. Soon after inception Deadbroke would produce and record 14 underground albums. With the albums under their belts and a team of MC’s, producers, and marketing/design, Namm decided to do a solo album which was the first mainstream attempt by the label. Namm has vowed that he will be one of the most significant MC’s in the game and to bring HIP-HOP back to its roots.
