Once a strong member of the roaring Louisville rock scene during the late 90's, Nathan Strange toured the tri-state area with the band INTAK as a Rap-Rock artist throughout Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee playing top notch festivals such as the Vans Warped Tour. Feeling compelled to explore his talent as an acoustic songwriter, Nathan struck out on his own in late 2002 to explore his passion in the acoustic/folk scene. Starting as a highly experimental artist, early underground recordings show Nathan as a developing musician. Self taught on the guitar, his early arrangements often revolved around characteristically odd chords resulting in discordant and harsh songs on early self-released independent albums such as “The Greenwood Sessions”. In 2005 plans for a marketable album began to fall into place and with the help of Phil Bright (SupEARior Sound Recording) the project gained an unexpected professionalism. The use of session musicians and a high quality production paid off in early 2006 as the album “Tree of Life” displayed the very best that Nathan Strange had to offer as a solo artist. Again collaborating with Phil Bright in 2008, a haunting set of instrumental songs was created for the soundtrack to Nathan’s documentary film about wild animal cruelty titled “Indiana Song Dogs”. The EP produced witnesses an atmospheric sound heavily layered in orchestrated strings and classical guitar. After moving to Lexington, KY in January of 2009, Nathan began collaborating with area musicians forming several groups and side projects. However, by 2010 Nathan had become bored with the acoustic scene and began experimenting as an electronic artist. As progress continued, Nathan was thrown into the world of trip-hop music where his sound and inspiration currently fall. By 2011 Nathan began work on a new project under the name Groove Goliath where he shares the stage with a live drummer, performing his original synthetic sound to the masses.
