Inspired by the rock/metal styles of Chevelle, Rise Against, and Sick Puppies; Odds Against One forms a heavy melodic powerhouse sound that delivers a nature all of its own. The Malvern, Arkansas based band formed in 2010 with an idea of sculpting music that portrayed the everyday issues we all go through… love, sex, death, and taxes. David Walters (lead vocals, guitar) and Chris Bennett (drums) began Odds Against One in early January. David and Chris had previously played together in a former local band known as Gray Matter. They worked diligently on songs for the next few months and in late March to early April picked up their bass player Andrew Dodd. From that point the three men knew that combined, Odds Against One had all the right elements to cut through the music scene, and leave crowds hungry for more. Shortly after, they hit the studio to lay the tracks to their 2010 Ep release “Cause N’ Effect”, a 4 track volt of heart felt, emotionally driven, fist to your face story of the world we live in today. Featuring songs such as: It’s Ok, the title track Cause N’ Effect, and Can’t take no more. Now geared to deliver their signature rock/metal sound, Odds Against One is building a solid foundation of fans with such local venues under their belt as… Soundstage, The Plan B Live Music Venue, and Vino’s Pizza Pub Brewery. Odds Against One is driving towards the future with more instate shows and venturing out on the road in early to mid 2011. With the solid sounds Odds Against One has began their career on., future albums will only be more than the last. Showing without a doubt a new sound of rock has birthed in the heart of Arkansas.
