Oridium is as unique as the name implies. Their music transcends the every day sound that we so often settle for when listening to the radio. Every element of their sound is indicative of the veritable cultural soup from whence they hail. Some might say that Oridium's sound is difficult to describe; that is only true if you try to classify their music as one type or another. Quite simply described, Oridium's music is beautiful and heart warming while still fierce and harsh. It speaks of the quite strength to endure and the passion that is required in doing so. It speaks of the anger of betrayal and the will required to carry on. Oridium's music is not one or the other, it is both; it is all at once. According to the Laredo Morning Times, "Oridium is a lethal combination of metal, hard rock ballads and Lea Garcia's distinctive voice." With influences ranging from Metallica and Tool to Elvis and Los Lonely Boys, you never know what you will see or hear at an Oridium show and it is this unpredictability that is the calling card of this dynamic act. Thanks to a formula of faith and sheer determination, the debut album "From Ashes" was released globally in October of 2008. Since it's release, Oridium's popularity has skyrocketed. Every day hundereds of fans from all over the globe join Oridium's circle of friends on Myspace. Oridium has also seen an influx of activity on YouTube generating hundreds of hits per day. "From Ashes" has now been downloaded in over 17 different countries and thanks to a partnership with MTV, Oridium ringtones are now available as well. Oridium has also been featured in numerous publications with the most recent being Skratch Magazine out of Los Angeles. Several Oridium hits are receiving regional, national and global air play on 99.5 Kiss, Radio Crystal Blue out of New York, Indie 104~iRADIO LA, Banana Peel Radio out of Vancouver Canada, Radio Basile, AFC Radio Network and IMradio.com. In fact, Oridium's hit song "Charade" has breached the top 3 most requested songs on Indie 104~iRADIO LA. Oridium has also had the honor of performing at numerous venues across the United States including the world famous Whiskey a GoGo. Oridium also believes in giving back to it's community. They have performed at numerous functions designed to promote positive change and encouragement. Recently, Oridium has teamed up with WWE superstar Shawn Michaels to serve as celebrity judges in a community talent competition. The competition is designed to inspire children and young adults alike to follow their dreams and share the gift of music with the world.
