Born and raised on the streets of New York; now living and working in South Central Los Angeles, Papileen (Troy Andrews) is an independent hip hop rapper/singer who writes and produces all of his own work from a home studio. Leen Music does not fit nicely into one style of rap. His musical influences are varied and he tackles a wide range of subjects, often addressing his own personal struggles growing up in a single parent home. Papileen not only records tracks you could hear in the DJ's mix at the local nightclub; he also speaks to current events and on subjects that you would hear discussed at the local coffee house. Papileen grew up in the world of sports. In high school he was an all city performer on the baseball diamond as well as on the basketball court and he was highly recruited by numerous college coaches. As a scholarship athlete at a North Carolina university, Papileen was introduced to the world of music production and he began rapping and performing on campus and at nearby venues. Music has since become a full time career and he is currently at work putting the finishing touches on his first solo mix tape, "Quality vs Quantity", set for release in the summer of 2012.
