But for these guys from Manila, the vision of flight materialized thru their music, bannered by an honest heart with great sympathy and respect for all. Many artists have experienced the Vision of Flight thru their own desired passions. Some dazzle the mind with their paintings while some distract it with their poetry. But for these guys from Manila, the vision of flight materialized thru their music, bannered by an honest heart with great sympathy and respect for all. Pentavia formerly known as Soultribe was formed on the eve of the millennium. It is composed of Boyet on Drums, Andrei Agulto on Bass, Ten "BusDriver" and Joks Reyes on guitars and Vlad Pullarca on vocals. Pentavia was coined as the groups name because of their vision of flight. They were five hungry souls yearning to fly with their music and have the army of souls like them to experience their freedom; as Pentavia, derived from two words ‘penta’ and ‘avia’, means five in flight or five wings symbolizing man’s limitless boundaries. Their music is hard to classify but many consider them to be a distinct entity in the Hardcore/Heavy Metal scene with highly amplified harmonized guitars to chugging riffs and gut busting bass licks synchronized with the earth-rumbling groovy to fast tempo drum beats giving a combined feeling of being swallowed by the ground and surfing in the clouds; while the poetry of the vocals are belted out in a manner far imagined. Respect and Support to other bands have been bannered by Pentavia since the time they started. They have always believed that the industry has a chance to reach the peak, if only bands would greatly support each other with utmost respect. Discrimination then could be squashed in an instant. Pentavia started out performing regularly at Mayrics, Millenia, Rock 2 Metal, and Rock Radio Alabang. They now have their regular set at Wilfredo’s and Freedom Bar every Tuesdays and Fridays. Though not regularly, Pentavia still plays at Mayrics and at Malate venues like Mai-Yuchi, Greenvine, and Vega J, and T. Morato’s Purple Haze Bar. While some of their memorable gigs were done on an open air venue like Pulp Summer Slam 2004 in Amoranto, after which they independently released their first EP album featuring four of their more popular songs like Invasion, Dance, Busdriver, and Demons & Angels. At the start of the summer of this year, 2007, they will be releasing their first full length album under the same independent label.
