Having observed the world from a distance for far too long, Post Descartes have finally decided to descend from the shadows to bring the aural world something new, something fresh, and something altogether more enigmatic. A variety of bands, substances, groups, hobbies and nightclubs spawned the four members of Post Descartes, three meeting by chance in the oppressive public schools regime, the fourth proving himself worthy through his insane basement navigation skills. Many years have seen them hone their respective talents individually, and more recently have seen these efforts converge. Operating out of a Birmingham town centre lockup, they have been carefully crafting audible transcendence to take the listener on a journey to somewhere nicer. Yes, sometimes this journey may be challenging - expect sneaky time-changes, virulent rhythms, and lyrics that will make you think – but know they offer a guarantee of eternal bliss for the committed. Yay... Pulling together influence from a near bottomless pit of inspirations, each member brings something unique to complement the others, and advances the music to something far bigger than the individual. Jazzy breakdowns come and go, and epic soundscapes ebb and flow, whilst a technical metal breakdown is never far away - 2012 sees Post Descartes refining their live show, gearing up to record a series of E.ps, and generating a lot of buzz.
