Prelude To Paradise (P2P), a band from Dayton, Texas, was formed in the fall of 2007. The name originated through a vision given to one of the band members in the early fall. The band went through its share of members, before discovering the one’s that God truly called to be a part of it. While having a meeting after a youth conference, the five current members, were then confirmed by the Holy Spirit, in October 2008.
After the confirmation in October, the band took their ministry to a whole new level, writing song after song, with potency and a spiritual purpose, meant to change lives and stir the hearts of this generation.
Prelude To Paradise exists to spread truth where there are lies, to spread light where there is darkness, and do so in a unique but contemporary style of music. This is accomplished when the band performs at any venue or church with one-on-one ministry being the core passion of the band, after shows time is spent building relationships with fans and opening their hearts to truth by showing that the band consists of people who also make mistakes and fall short of God’s glory. Trough this manner of communing, the grace and mercy and free gift of salvation and redemption is shared.
Rudy Neuman, the band’s lead vocalist and rhythm guitar, displays great emotion through his strong and potent voice, and is fulfilling the music ministry left behind by his mother, whom passed away from cancer. He is just as passionate when he plays his guitar, as when he sings.
Ben Nelson, the band’s lead guitar and back-up vocalist, adds his own versatile music background and style into the mix of things. With his reverb-soaked and delay-accentuated leads, he pulls the edge of the song’s emotion into focus. Ben is the business mind of the band, and is exceedingly gifted at what he does.
Kt Nance, the band’s keyboard player, provides a nice and unique atmosphere, with her many varying ambient sounds and her melodious playing style. Katie is the girl of the band; she rounds up all of the fans for the band, and always keeps each member focused on gentleness.
Salvador Gonzalez, the band’s bass player, gives a strong and driving feel to the music, which helps carry the mood of the song. Salvador is the amusing character of the band; his spirits can lift anyone he comes in contact with.
Tra Neuman, is the band’s drummer and back-up vocalist. His anomalous playing style carries the rhythm to new depths and heights, where nothing is commonplace. Tra is the member of the band who keeps each member accountable to humility, but also tends to keep on the comical side.
It is clear to see that the members have a heart and desire for worship, on and off the stage. The lyrics that they sing come from God and they all have a part in writing their songs, and together these five siblings in Christ make up Prelude To Paradise.
