Hello World, I go by the name of Dequan Starnes aka Q-Starnes ima start with telling you a little bit about my self. Well I was born and raised in a small town called Monroe North Carolina. I Was Born Jan 7th in the year 1990, I'm the oldest of 4 children all boys by a wonderful single parent mother by the name of Carrie Massey. All my life I have seen my mom struggle with raising four kids with the help of my beautiful grandmother by the name of Alma Massey, and working a regular 9 to 5 job living from pay check to pay check just to keep a roof over our heads. Even at a early age I Dreamed to be able to tell my mom someday, "mama you don't have to work I'm rich you can kick your feet up now". And everyday and night I Pray and ask god to make my dreams come true. And speaking of God I actually have a really Good Relationship with our lord and savior as well. On my spare time I try and read my holy bible as much as I can cause in my opinion, that's the only Place other then my music that I can find Peace in times of stress. But besides all the hurt and pain i have been through in my life I am still a strong young black man to this day. I mean I have seen things like Family members being strung out on drugs or very bad drinking problems and, I Have even seen things Like family members getting in terrible fights. But even through all the animosity We All Have remain close and still to this day one of the best families around. I was actually raised in a wonderful family though I mean all the bad times didn't last forever and it wasn't always bad,i mean we really are a loving family and has did a lot of traveling together I just gave you some examples of things I have seen. But getting back to me I Have actually learned how to be a man through women and somewhat on my own because, I remember when I was about 9 years old, my grandmother on my father side looked me directly in the eyes and told me that her son was not my real father. I mean from that day forward I was confused and just wondering who my real father was wishing that he would some day come in my life, and finally in the year 2011 I Found out and he showed up. I Found out that he had been in prison about 10 years, So really the guy who I thought was my real dad I had already made a great relationship with him so when my real dad came along I really wasn't so excited about meeting him. So as i grew up I just used that hurt that I had in my heart about him not being there as motivation to things I done or participated in like sports. Yes sports i said it, I played basketball through out my hole life really that was actually my other passion other then my music. I mean I have won rec. league championships and AAU championships I mean I have had a pretty good time in Basketball. But then I went to high school and left my home town school, to go to A school called Porter Ridge High. I enjoyed some of the people in the school but I mean honestly you find good people anywhere, so really in my opinion those times of my life was some of the most stressful times. I went through things like girls I was dating breaking my heart to things like being stressed out about exams, people Laughing at me I mean exams and EOG Test really were my biggest fear. Because I Had already failed a grade once in the 5th grade while attending East Elementary, And from that point on test just brung a lot of nervous break downs and stress over me. In the year 2008 to 2009 of my senior Year I ended up finding out I was ineligible 2 times in the same year due to absences and my grades. I mean that really about killed me because at that time I saw myself becoming a basketball player in college and due to my grades I couldn't be . So From That point on I was lost didn't know what I really wanted to do with my life or my career in the future, and right when I was about to give up on life and everything in it even all my dreams I had a friend By The Name Of Cameron Deason to look me dead in the eyes and tell me bra I believe in you, you need to get back into your music man. And from that day forward I was working hard putting in a lot of time in the studio And it made me the man I am today. I mean don't get me wrong I had been doing music since I was about 11, I actually did that and played ball at the same time, I always new I wanted to Be a rapper But I just had a passion for something else at the same time. I used to rap in a Little group with a few of my cousins called E-squad, one of my cousins who's name is Ariel actually taught me how to write hooks and come up with concepts for songs cause before I just wrote verses. But with his help and practice I improved a lot, i mean I had so much practice because all I did was record from the age of about 13 til now because my step father built me an at home recording studio from scratch so I put in a lot of time an hard work there. But now I have a wonderful team a great staff behind me now, got 2 of the greatest Producers walking right now, one goes by the name of Randell Massey aka Randeezee and the other AJ Simon aka J-Gunna and my team is doing big things and I hope That you as my fan keep supporting us in what we do because without yall and the lord above we ain't nothing.
