REALCAMINO was started by Jan Sabbath (guitar, vocals) and Dayce T (drums, vocals) in Edmonton in 2007 after the two had put in a copious amount of basement time. The name REALCAMINO is a twist on the name of the old road that runs down most of western California (El Camino Real).
In our version, Real is not a spanish word—it really means “real” (cryptic, I know)—or, just as correctly, you could say it means “true”. Camino on the other hand, really is a Spanish word meaning “road”.
