Surrounded by the elements of gospel music Rodney has been singing since the age of seven. The youngest of twelve children he performed his first solo concert at the age of fifteen accompanied by his family in Winston Salem, NC. Surrounded by the elements of gospel music Rodney has been singing since the age of seven. The youngest of twelve children he performed his first solo concert at the age of fifteen accompanied by his family in Winston Salem, NC. His creative blending of musical styles is varied ranging from Musical Theatre and Jazz to Classical and Contemporary allowing him to take the stage with some of today' s greatest gospel singers like Tremaine Hawkins, John P. Kee, Shirley Caesar, Men of Standard, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Anointed, and the Boys Choir of Harlem. Known for his expansive vocal range and passionate delivery, Rodney was hand picked to tour Europe with Queen Esther Marrow and the Harlem Gospel Singers where he is one of the featured vocalists. This tour happens annually and has done so since 2003. Rodney has performed in many musicals and stage plays some include local productions of "In God We Trust", “Word’s From The Trial”, “Dream Girls” and “The Journey of Gospel Music”. Rodney has been very active in his church serving as choir director and worship leader. He is often featured as the guest psalmist of several ministries, conferences, and national conventions through out the nation. Rodney has performed as a featured vocalist and song writer on several local artists’ CD projects. He has appeared on Bobby Jones Gospel in 2002 performing his original composition "At All Times”. In addition Rodney performed at the 2000 Gospel Music Workshop of America in New Orleans, Louisiana as a featured artist. Rodney has also recorded live with The Glorious 'Mass Choir of Wilmington Delaware in 2009. As a part of Rodney's ministry, he gives back to the community through his time and talent participating with non-profit organizations such as the National Black Theatre Festival, the Special Olympics and the Down syndrome Annual Walk. Rodney is currently signed to Jireh Records of Brooklyn, New York his debut album currently untitled is due to be released in the spring of 2010.
