Country Music artist Rodney Watts is a member of the United States Army and recently wrote a song during a deployment called “Comin Home.” “Comin Home” helps to give the Soldiers and their families Hope about Coming Home. Rodney was recently asked to play music for the soldiers and their families at their homecoming ceremonies. He has played at over 60 ceremonies at Fort Campbell. Some would be at 3pm and some at 3am. Country Music artist Rodney Watts is a member of the United States Army and recently wrote a song during a deployment called “Comin Home.” “Comin Home” helps to give the Soldiers and their families Hope about Coming Home. Rodney was recently asked to play music for the soldiers and their families at their homecoming ceremonies. He has played at over 60 ceremonies at Fort Campbell. Some would be at 3pm and some at 3am. It didn’t matter the time, Rodney was always there to entertain the families. He had the honor of performing his song “Hero” at the 2008 day of remembrance ceremony at the Washington Monument. He also played at the AUSA Conference at Washington DC and the Army 10 mi Run at the Pentagon. He played at the USO several times at Fort Leonard wood, MO. Rodney truly enjoys helping his fellow soldiers. He helps to build morale. He has opened for country music artists, Kenny Chesney, Gary Allen, and Comedian Rodney Carrington, just to name a few. He was interviewed by Kix Brooks for his top 40 radio show. Rodney recently played at the Salute the Troops Concert, during the Week of the Eagle at Fort Campbell, KY. (Aug 2009) He performed among acts, such as Carrie Underwood, Hank Williams Jr, Jake Owen, John Rich and Rodney Adkins. He felt a great honor to Salute the Troops among such great talent. Rodney not only plays for the soldiers, he has purchased 2 wheel chairs for young men who could not afford them. In addition, each year at Christmas, he takes gifts to several families who are unable to afford gifts for their children. Rodney is a true Hero, in every way. Rodney says, “My dream is to keep writing and performing for the soldiers around the world to bring them hope.” His motto is “Singing for the American Soldier.” Rodney is first and foremost supported by God and Family.
