Even as a young boy, fascinated with the sounds of The Beatles and James Taylor, Rory knew that he was destined to share his story through music. A poet at the core, Sullivan captivates listeners with his soulful lyrics, powerful voice and delicately placed melodies.
Like most great songwriters, creative bursts helped Rory amass an impressive catalog of original songs before he had even played his first show. Then, at age 17, he decided to share his art with the world. In the few short years since his first show, Rory has grown as a musician and songwriter playing countless venues up and down the East Coast and creating a dedicated fan base.
In August 2008, Rory embarked on a journey working with Grammy Award winning producer and founder of Windham Hill Records, Will Ackerman, and in October 2009 released a six song EP entitled “Here All Along”. The record features an array of legendary players including Paul McCartney's Drummer Steve Holley and legendary bassist T. Bone Wolk. “Here All Along” is an aural masterpiece that is undeniably infectious and organically raw.
His songwriting talent was truly recognized when in March of 2009 Rory's song “From the Bottom” was hand chosen to accompany other artists such as Emmylou Harris, Shelby Lynn and John Oates on a compilation album released by the Animal Media Foundation called, “Giving Animals a Voice Through Music”.
