Going beyond an artist to establish an empire is why New Jersey born Manan Pandya chose the stage name Taizu; a term which monks refer to for one who forms a dynasty. Since his parents are from the Motherland, Taizu understood right away that penetrating the music industry as an Indian rap artist would make him stand out in addition to creating a challenge at the same time. He knew he would be scrutinized, yet looked over more than your average emcee as Eminem was when he first emerged on the rap scene. With influences ranging from Big Pun, Lil Wayne to KRS-One and Big Daddy Kane; Taizu is determined to be versatile with his style and join the elite ruling the airwaves. His first solo mixtape (Love, Drugs, & Murder) sheds light on the mind of a psycho-genius stemming from past experiences with his adulteress X, to destructive addictions of his lungs and nose. Often overlooked as an emcee purely based off looks, Taizu's quick to put the judge on trial after the opening statements. His witty lyricism and blatant disregard for social norms let his fans know he speaks what he feels. Being the black sheep has never been something Taizu feared, as all obstacles are stepping stones to victory. In an industry full of cookie cutters, Taizu says fuck cookies, I'd rather eat a brownie.
