The band plays instruments known as the guitar, the piano and the drums, and they are played altogether to create sounds which become songs. The songs are like colours. Rubber Band is a new, exciting band drawing on a diverse spectrum of influences from the Beatles to your favourite cup of tea. The band plays instruments known as the guitar, the piano and the drums, and they are played altogether to create sounds which become songs. The songs are like colours. Some are raw like purple lightning. Some are nice creamy yellow pies. Some are even explosions like rainbow fireworks. Some are just black- and they are a bit scary to be honest. Nevertheless, Rubber Band is a group of triers: passionate musicians, crazy artists, poets, screamers and magicians. Bring back the 60s but let's play like it's the end of the world! Rubber Band was formed years ago, when a piano fell from the sky and a songbird buzzed across its keys. It was 2003 and two young men of the names Anthony Charman and Christopher Soul got together to record some songs. The first song ever recorded was called 'Harder and Harder' and was about how hard it was to write a song. After that, songs were easy to write with songs about magic fleas, clowns, crazy girls and love and life. Until 2007 Anthony and Christopher recorded nearly a hundred songs, influenced by acts as diverse as the Beatles, Oasis, David Bowie, Bob Dylan and Right Said Fred. In 2007 at Farnborough Music College, Anthony met a lovely young pianist called Karl Duggan. Christopher was up in Leeds being a painter and a creative writer for a while. Anthony and Karl with some other young dudes recorded some songs and went on the radio. Christopher then realized that he wanted to be on the radio too so got involved. Rubber Band now consists of Anthony Charman (vocals/guitars), Christopher Soul (vocals/ guitars), Karl Duggan (piano/keys) and Tom Chapman (an amazing drummer who also gets funky on the decks.)
