Welcome to Sean McClain's site. Sean is from Charleston, South Carolina. God has called Sean McClain to move to Detroit and spread his gifts around the world. He started on the drums, which was his first love. Then he moved on to another instrument seeing that God hasn't stopped just there. God called him to play the hammond organ. His greatest inspiration to play the organ was Pamela McClain(his mother), Rev. Edward A. McClain Jr.(his grandfather and pastor), and Micheal Brown(a good friend). These people encouraged him to move forward to greater things in his life. At the age of 16, Sean started playing for his former church, Calvary A.M.E. Church, where the pastor is Rev. Edward A. McClain Jr. Without a single piano lesson, the first Sunday he played for the church, the saints were slayed in the spirit!... "Wow!"...Wouldn't you agree that God has ordained and predestined that gift? March 7, 2006, Sean moved to Detroit, Michigan as a full-time musician to play for an outstanding church named Second Ebenezer Church, where the pastor is Dr. Edgar Vann. The church has over 9500 members. Sean works with great musicians like Curtis Pearson, Charles "Volley" Craig(bass player for Aretha Franklin) and Micheal Fletcher(he wrote "I Have a Message From the Lord"). As time moved on, Sean McClain was given the opportunity to play for a few well-known artists around the world as listed: Micheal Fletcher and Chorale, Bishop T.D. Jakes, Maurette Brown Clark, Ted and Sheri, Deitrick Hadden, Myron Butler, Beverly Crawford, Limmie Battles, Shirley Murdock, Dorthy Norwood, Nancy Wilson, Desmond Pringle, Marion Morton and Walter Hawkins. He also had the the privilage to share the stage with Aaron Spears, Mary Mary, Marvin Winans, Kim Burrell, Byron Cage, Dave Hollister, Paul Porter and the Christianiers, Saxophonist Angella Christie, Dodi, Bishop Noel Jones, Lucinda Moore, Pastor Jamal Bryant, Minister Sheryl Brady, Aaron Lindsey, Buddy Strong, Rick Wafford, Calvin Rodgers, Darel Freeman and Derek Starks. Sean has toured across the great seas with another well known group called Tony and Company in Italy, Rome, and many other places. Wow, he also had an honor to perform for President Bill and Hillary Clinton at the Max Fisher Theater!! On May 2nd 2008, Sean McClain and His Pastor, Dr. Edgar Vann, produced and project called "Encourage Yourself" When the project came out, it was sold out in 15 minutes. Wow look at God!! God allowed Dr. Edgar Vann and Sean McClain to work together to help bless people with encouraging music and scriptures. Theres more to come. On May 11th 2008, Sean McClain has received a SPIRIT OF DETROIT AWARD for exceptional achievements, oustanding leadership, and dedication to improving the quality of life.
