Hailing from Hobart, Tasmania, Separatist are a five piece Death Metal outfit. Wielding their own impressively versatile style of playing, they've been described as Technical Death metal, Blackened-Death and everything in-between. Throughout their development, Separatist have been continually pushing stylistic boundaries, forging their own unique breed of dark, brutal, technical death metal. Separatist, having recently released their debut album "The Motionless Apocalypse", are currently working diligently at expanding their fan base around Australia and constructing a solid profile for themselves within the metal industry. Having formed five years ago, Separatist has been through many style and line-up changes; with roots in Nu-Metal/Metalcore, over the years they have transgressed past the barriers of genre to become what they are today. Striking back with a new and improved line-up with the inclusion of Sam Dishington on vocals, Matt Carter on drums, Luke Ranson on bass and both James Brady and David Gilbert on both rhythm & lead guitars. Since emerging from their recording process they have supported major international bands such as "Skinless" and "Dismember" and renowned Australian bands; "Psycroptic", "The Berserker", "Alarum", and "I Killed the Prom Queen", as well as headlining the Chaos A.C.T. IV festival in Canberra and playing alongside many up and coming Australian bands in their home cities, such as "Asphyxia" from Adelaide and "The Ocularis Infernum" from Melbourne. Separatist have also been a frequent feature in Australian music magazines, websites and radio stations including BLUNT, BME magazine, The Buzz, Sauce Magazine, Metalobsession.com, 3RRR station, PBSFM, Three D FM and more. Their accomplishments are only the initial steps on the road that lies ahead of Separatist, with the support of their booking agent Welkin Entertainment, and Truth Inc.
