"Breath Of Fresh Air", "Perseverance", "Determination", "Poetic". There are many catch phrases and adjectives that can be used to describe Shadcore. His voice alone demands respect. It is deep, powerful and most of all confident. Not one to follow the status quo or replicate someone else's formula, Shadcore has always stood apart from the rest. The first thing that gets most people's attention when they hear his music is the absence of profanity. He is a firm believer in Jesus Christ and he feels that artists should be more responsible when it comes to the foul language that kids are subject to hearing on these records. He onced entered a rap contest for a $100 grand prize. He said he needed the money to pay his light bill so he signed up on that premise. In his freestyle he rapped, "I came out here to get yall crazy hyped...because my son needs pampers and baby wipes!!" The crowd went bananas and out of 32 emcees, Shadcore won the money and did just what he said he was going to do with the money; he paid the light bill and bought pampers and wipes! A year later he entered another rap contest. This time the grand prize was a brand new car. Contestants were to submit a 45 second jingle about a Kia "Rio" and the winner would walk (or should I say drive) away with a brand new Kia. Well out of thousands of entrants guess who drove off the lot with the new car? You guessed it, SHADCORE!!!!! Since then he has gone on to become the runner-up in VH1's Freestyle59 competition in 2005 and he was a Top 5 Finalist the following year in the same competition. Shadcore is a, "... family man pushing a family van" as he so eloquently puts it. Happily married for 9 years and the father of three he says a full-time career doing music and writing would just be the icing on the cake. And he doesn't plan to stop flowing anytime soon.
