Go-Getter is an understatement when it comes to Atlanta-based rapper Shun Tei. The larger-than life rapper, possesses lyrical talent that spans far beyond his years. Born Justin Brown, of Petersburg, VA, Shun Tei, started with desires to be a basketball player in the NBA. But as time took its course he began to realize that basketball was not his calling. A week into his senior year at Stephenson High School, he lost his close friend, Trevayne Cozart, to a senseless act. Shun Tei then composed a song in Trevayne’s remembrance, and was what ignited ShunTei’s passion for music. The son of famous South Georgia disc jockey, “Sam The Preacherman,” the emerging artist donned himself Shun Tei, a name that he says describes the demeanor his style of music brings out of the audience. With such influences as OutKast, Drake, Tupac and Lil Wayne, Shun Tei says he is ready to take his victory lap and see his name in flashing lights in cities across the globe. Developing a serious discipline for the art of hip-hop, Shun Tei steadily writes and performs his own lyrics to crowds in the Atlanta area, Columbus, GA, Albany, GA, Fort Valley, GA, and Dawson, GA. His distinctive voice and metaphoric lyrics transcend color and age lines. Shun Tei lives by the motto "Living Outrageously Until Death.” His latest street anthem, Go Hard, will guarantee to have audiences bobbing their heads to the track. His mixtape, Good Life is Closer, which infuses hip-hop, has the makings of a classic album. “I’m living out L.O.U.D. through my music and I hope they [the fans] hear me!” he declares.
