Local roots band Síochána (pronounced sha kahw naa) is made up of four members; Bruce Mesh, Wayne James, Jim Feehan and founder Darrin Feehan. For the past 10 years, they have evolved into one of the best party bands in the city. They play a mixture of Traditional Newfoundland, bluegrass, Celtic, folk and some old rock and roll music and are known for their tight harmonies and high energy shows on stage. Síochána are a mainstay at Bridie Molloy's on George St, appearing in a regular rotation with many other talented local bands. They also make reguler appearances at The George Street Beer Market and the newly opened Shamrock City Pub. They are fixtures at many local festivals such as The George Street Festival, Festival of Friends and SunSplash to name a few. Síochána are also available to play to private functions such as conferences, weddings or corporate events.
