Born and raised in Houston, TX, and growing up singing in church, smooth R&B crooner Sir Giles had a hard time convincing his skeptical family that the music business was the place for him. When Giles was 18 years old --- he and a group of friends (which consisted of Brian "Angel" Andrews currently a member of P. Diddy's boy band Day26) helped form a group that would later be called Proof, a Boyz II Men-styled singing group that made some waves within the Houston music scene by performing in malls, the movies, different talent shows and local concert events. Giles and his group hooked up with a local Houston production team in early 2002, by then his family knew he was serious and that his dream of a record deal was entirely possible. One of the many accomplishments of Proof was when they where selected to perform on BET’s 1 rated show, 106 & Park, Summer 2002 for the first annual 106 & Park Road Tour Show. Proof would go on to record and shop their demo with the help of their production team. Later that year Giles’ band was summoned to New York for a private meeting of major label executives orchestrated by entertainment attorney Steven C. Beer of Greenberg Traurig, LLP who was responsible for helping start the careers of Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync. As a result of the showcase, several majors offered to sign Giles’ group, but, due to poor negotiating tactics by their production team no deal was finalized. After Proof learned of their production teams blunder the group eventually disbanded. Distraught from two botched group attempts, Giles set about to take a break from music in 2004 and live a modest lifestyle. In doing so he would face everyday trials and triumphs. But, while living an ordinary way of life, Giles began to tap into an extraordinary gift that he never realized he posessed; song writing. He used song writing as a way to vent his past and present life experiences that touched him deep in his heart and soul. When it comes to writing, Giles' honesty and vulnerability are refreshing, given the stale, formulaic state of R&B. As Giles began to hone his craft and increase his song catalog over a two year span, the desire to pursue his dream of becoming a music superstar awakened and consumed him like a raging fire. But, this time Giles confidently opted to remain a solo artist simply because he’d had his “fair share of singing in groups.” Armed with a heavy arsenal of incredible songs he’s penned, Giles has begun working earnestly on putting together his highly anticipated solo debut and is poised to become a dominant force as a singer/song writer in the male R&B and Pop categories.
