Stealing Carolina brings the fire with their Seattle sound to your earphones and to your speakers. The band consists of one guy, Jose Jimenez, the lead singer/guitarist. This one-man band brings the heavy sound when needed and knows when to take it slow. At the age of 13, Jose began learning guitar by listening to Breaking Benjamins second album, We Are Not Alone. By learning all the songs on We Are Not Alone, Jose began singing and playing guitar, following his idol, Benjamin Burnley. At the age of 15, Jose began recording demos at his parents house. Eager to make an album, Jose learned simple techniques to make his recordings sound impressive. The only things he needed were, a guitar, a mic, and an interface. By the time he was 18, Jose had over 400 songs demoed out, and ready for vocals. Time past, and months turned into years and still nothing came. Making music like his rock idol from Breaking Benjamin, Jose made a quick change in music taste in the Fall of 2010, while listening to a Nirvana greatest hits album, a cd that he found in his girlfriends brothers room, he immediately was intrigue. Wanting to bring back the Seattle roots, Jose began making new songs. The first song being "Better Days" a simple-catchy song, that makes everyone feel like, there is always hope, even if you are lonely. One of the other first songs to be written was, "Crazy", which brings out the roots of jazz and blues, with a mixture of grunge. Gaining inspiration, for one of his idols, Ray Charles. Stealing Carolina is worth taking a listen to. If Better Days or Crazy don't get you going, than the killer rock riffs on "Eyes Set For Gold" are sure to get you off your feet. The debut album of Stealing Carolina called, "Somewhere", due sometime this summer, will put Seattle back on the map for music and entertainment. Jose, now age 20, has proven with these songs, that he is a great guitar player, an outstanding writer, and great singer. His choruses and songs will be stuck in your head for days. Recording from his apartment, using only a computer, a mic, an interface, and a guitar, Jose has proven once again that you don't need auto-tune on your voice or fancy studio equipment to make a great cd or to get that good quality sound, all you need is the drive to succeed in life, and the will to do it. "Somewhere" is an album worth buying.
