After spending 15 years as one of the top selling hosts on QVC, Steve Bryant took a year off to perform his original music at festivals around the country. The positive reaction to his political songs and parodies led him to a talk radio gig in the Philadelphia Suburbs.
He returned to TV as Vice President of Sales for Scripps Networks (The Food Network, HGTV). He left after two years when the network he was working for, Shop At Home, was sold. The new owners decided to return to selling “collectible” swords. After hearing about a set of 20 “collectible” swords, Steve asked, “Is there a dragon epidemic I don’t know anything about?” The new owners realized that Steve didn’t share their vision and allowed him to opt out of his contract early.
Since then, Steve has hosted a few infomercials. “I hosted the two most recent Ron Popeil infomercials, which have become two of the most successful infomercials of all time. I’ve turned down most of the infomercials that have been offered to me, since I didn’t believe in the products, but Ron’s rotisserie and cutlery are great. I won’t endorse a product unless I believe in it.”
Among the many infomercials Steve has turned down are a few for products claiming to help with impotence and make that certain part of the male anatomy larger. “They wanted me to use the product for a month and give a personal testimonial; Hello, I’m Steve Bryant. Steve’s political satire bits and parodies have been featured on major radio shows as well as the cable TV news stations. “I love make people laugh and think,” he notes.
Steve is a self-described Constitutionalist. “I’m not a Conservative, Liberal or even a Libertarian. I take the issues as I see them. If a law does not adhere to the US Constitution, then it’s worthless in my opinion.”
