Antwone Shonerick Coleman-Pace, better known as Stone or other monikers "Stoney C" or "Stone of G-$quad," has had to compete for a place in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex music scene since 2004 and and has done so in exceptional fashion with the weight and scrutiny of the Garland, TX city and label on his back. Growing up in a 3-bedroom house in East Garland with his Mom, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, 3 aunts, 6 cousins and his 2 grandparents, he not only learned how to survive and make the best with what he had, but soaked in alot of old-school Soul/R&B music and Hip-Hop music to later influence his whole style later in life. He was a bastard since his biological father Larry "Shorty" Coleman of the Harlem Globetrotters wasn't around to see him grow into a man, but his Mom, Sheenon Pace served as both until his Step-father, Tim Heath Sr., filled a major void and raised him. Stone is very chill, suave and cool. Some would say he's quiet, but he's only that way when he chooses. It's always the quiet ones you have to watch out for and with Stone's musical talents, people eventually did just that. He met rap partner Big mick, born Mykel Richardson, at age 11 in 1996 at O'Banion Middle School in 6th grade and also stayed cool with him in high school at South Garland High School. Stone's first love was Basketball, but once he quit the Varsity team his Senior year to focus on a academic scholarship chance, he really had nothing to lean on until after high school. During that time in 2003 as a freshman at The University of Houston is where he realized his true talent, Hip-Hop Music. After vibing with his roomate and other floormates on the 10th Floor of the South Moody Towers dorms, he created his first song from scratch "Swangin'" and then the ball rolled from there. "Swangin'" was a slow-riding rap ballad song that fit the Houston culture and once Stone was convinced by others that he should make more songs, he indeed did so with his 10th Floor Heavyweights crew that consisted of Joel Cross (Notable Jazz Player in Texas), Redd Man, Supa B, Ron C (A&R at Universal Records) and Country Gramma. Satisfied with his first year of college educationally and on the music side, Stone brought his music back home to Garland in the 2004 summer and came to Big Mick with the idea of them doing music together. Big Mick was already making a name for himself in Garland for his crazy freestyle rap skills, so it was only natural that they collabed. With that collaboration of mixtape songs came the creation of "It's All Throwed Vol. 1" and the birth and legacy of G-$quad. “It’s All Throwed Vol. 1” shockingly took off when it was released. The lead song “G-A-R-L-A-N-D” sparked a humungous buzz for the group all around Garland and their Myspace page accumulated a lot of hits. With both members pushing the cd through Garland-North Dallas area, Stone expanding it to Houston and Big Mick even pushing it through Silverdale, Washington with his brother on visits, the ball was rolling for G-$quad. In 2006, Stone transferred from the University of Houston to the University of North Texas, (where he eventually graduated in 2008) in order to be closer to home and so he and Big Mick could get more work done. After putting in work on their sound, G-$quad started getting booked to do shows and invited to a host of parties in the DFW area. They teamed up with other Garland artists such as Chris-SKO (Stone's 1st cousin and Lil Flip's Clover G'z Records artist), the Young Seed, and Mr. Showcase and helped bring more attention to the Garland music scene. All artists fought for respect around neighboring Dallas and eventually got it. G-$quad hit the radio waves of K104 in 2007 with “D-Town Boogie (PeeWee Herman)” ft. Mr. Showcase after a long grinding spree of club plays and internet promotion. Just by getting a spin on the radio was a plus and another spark to G-$quad’s career. After hearing themselves on the radio, G-$quad was eager to get back on and created their best hit to date in “Watch Me Get It.” G-$quad really boosted their buzz with this song throughout numerous clubs in Texas and out-of-state clubs and made a official music video to carry on the buzz for their first album “Tales From Da ‘G’”, released 2008. G-$quad continued to put out as many hits and music videos for their fan base to listen to and view as they could and have done over 250 shows from all around. While in search of another mega hit, G-$quad teamed up with the MVP Boys, from Garland as well, and created “Stupid-Fly” which described their overall swagger. The song and music video has exploded across the DFW Metroplex and other cities across the nation and became a must-see on Youtube and other social networks. Both groups are currently enjoying the fruits of their labor from the results of their album titled “Throwed City” because of the “Stupid-Fly” buzz. It currently has over 1,000+ downloads and counting. G-$quad is currently still in the works of releasing their "No-Fly Zone" album too. In between those times, Stone has had solo projects including "You Got the Juice Now..." in 2006 and his most notable mixtape "Stone: Off Da Wall" in 2011. The "Stone: Off Da Wall" mixtape was led by his hit "Stoney Madness" which told the story of his state in hip-hop and catapulted his rank in the Dallas-Fort Worth music scene. Nowadays you can catch Stone delivering priceless performances at shows, making moves with Chris-SKO, Lil Flip and the Clover G'z or working feverishly on releasing his album "I Ain't Sh!t" in which he claims to be his last music project depending on how it's received. Basically saying that it needs to be major and notorious in the Southern Region or it's a fail. With lead songs like "Automatic" (Prod. by Star of MVP Boys), an edgy hustling anthem, "Brown on Ice" ft. Deonte (Prod. by Cardo of Taylor Gang), a grown and sexy song geared for gorgeous women and drank, and "On A Daily" (Prod. by D-Boi Beatz), a slow-riding anthem for grinders, "I Ain't Sh!t" shouldn't fail! Stone has also released his mixtape "Ol' Day's Work" February 2, 2013 as a prelude to his "I Ain't Sh!t" album dropping March 12, 2013. The mixtape is doing it's job! He plans on starting his on Publishing company and writing songs for Hip-Hop and R&B artists in need of hits after he's done with his music career. Eventually, he wants to be an A&R and retire in music afterwards.
