Hailing from Louisville, Kentucky what first started out as a three-piece act has now evolved into a five-piece group of aspiring musicians. With so many bands today worried about appearance and “the scene”, Talk of Spring promises to deliver the pop punk that’s slowly disappearing to excessive screaming vocals and pedal-happy metalcore acts. This energetic, young group packs a punch on stage with duo vocals between lead singer Jessica Steiger and guitarist Josh Simone. The rhythmic machine of Jake Griffith with Scotty Peebles’ bass slinging enthusiasm compunds nicely with lead guitarist’s Robbie Fields’ entrenching melodies. Talk of Spring can be compared to: Paramore, Taking Back Sunday, and Fall Out Boy but the band cites their influences as All Time Low, 1997, Motion City Soundtrack, Bright Eyes, and “Anyone that changes lives with music.” With a positive attitude and devotion solely to the music and fans, Talk of Spring is definitely the band to follow closely and holds great promise in the near future. Talk of Spring is in the process of finishing up their first EP and hopes to go on their first tour soon, so check back frequently for upcoming shows.
