Who is NishaReece??? That is a good question, she is a soft spoken artistic soul. An artistic soul because her whole embodiment is artistic. She is a Poet, Song Writer, Producer, Vocalist, Entertainer, and Visual Artist. She is an individual out of this world and not of this planet in every sense of the word, she is eccentric and unique in personality and style. I can Honestly say God gave this young lady many gifts and talents. To think of what she has been through, what she has seen and how she has lived you would think this young lady would have developed into a failure; a person lost in the depth of nothingness because of the obstacles and stones thrown in her direction; but this young lady is climbing to the top regardless, while giving thanks to her trials and tribulations. She gives all praises to the negative in her life while always holding god first. She believes and appreciates the negative. She recognizes it helped her find the unique pieces of her self that came together and gave birth to NishaReece. Nishareece born Tenisha Cherece Hyde was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Her parents are immigrants to America from Central America, Belize. This young lady knows the meaning of heart ache, pain and struggle. Her father was a rolling stone and was ripped from her life at an early age do to his illegal endeavors, his love for the hustle and women: leaving NishaReece and her siblings to grow up in a single parent home with only the support of her mother. Later on in life the same misfortune of loosing the father of her children happened to NishaReece's moms sister. The two women came together and raised they're children in the same house hold. Her south central household had a grand total of 10 kids and two young women nurturing them; 3 boys and 7 girls. At times the house would be filled to capacity with either friends and family members passing through for months and years at a time. NishaReece the eldest girl of the bunch had to maintain much of the responsibility while her mother and aunt went to work and or go to school. While her mom and aunt were gone she became the protector, the hair stylist, the babysitter, the cook, and the tutor to the other children giving her a lot of responsibility at an early age and no real child hood. She was an adult before her time. NishaReece became a stressed adolescent with many questions and wishes on her mind. Often staying to her self the only way she knew how to escape her reality was through writing, and her imagination, in school she was in gifted classes and maintained above average grades in school. She would write any thing from stories, to poems, to journals. At times she would find herself humming melodies, rhyming and singing about her day or what she saw around her, but all to her self keeping it to her self. She started writing at the age of nine and kept it going ever since. As a child NishaReece dreamed, and day dreamed and wished for her hard knock life to be a better one but of course not all wishes come true. Making moves make wishes and dreams come true. She grew up in the inner city where rival gangs fought through out the night and the ghetto birds always shined they're bright lights, where young women sold they're bodies for dope or money all through out the night. There was never peace and quiet in her neighborhood; on her block. The late nights of horror, riddling bullets, sirens and screams gave her true life depictions of her ghetto reality. A reality she understood but didn't quite comprehend. In her minds eye all she could see was devastation and corruption. Her minds eye turned those negative pictures and visions into art both written and visual. It was the only way she could cope with her environment with out going crazy. She would cry her self to sleep at night wanting a better surrounding, wanting a better family structure, wanting her father, wanting peace and quiet at night, wanting to see and feel love; love was scarce in her hood and struggle was abundant. She taught her self how to survive despite the lack of the above. To live in and survive in L.A. became her motto. As the years went by her stacks of poems got bigger. Life became harder, as she dipped and dabbled in drugs and wrong decisions along with wrong choice in men. When she was 19 working a temp job she ran into a young woman who inquired about this big burgundy leather folder that she would always carry with her. NishaReece told the young woman that it was her poetry; the young lady invited her to a poetry workshop and told NishaReece to write a poem about fear; that was the topic for the next workshop. The workshop was called The Mic Sessions, hosted by and developed by 2Pac's mentor and first manager Leila Steinberg. NishaReece attended the workshop the following week with her poem on fear in that huge burgundy folder in hand and for the first time stepped on the stage and recited a poem, her thoughts her story. Ever since that day she hasn't stopped speaking her mind, thoughts, pains and telling her story through her voice, her spoken word; her spoken testimony. Leila Steinberg took NishaReece under her wing and inducted her in her non profit organization Assemblies In Motion. Through the non-profit NishaReece toured as an artist educator in the juvenile systems such as group homes, youth groups, inner city schools, juvenile halls, and prisons. Touring with various music industry and movie industry artists. NishaReece has had the pleasure of working with Leila Steinberg, Quincy Jones III (QD3), Mike Epps, Ray Love, KRS 1, Young Dre, The Outlaws, Michael Greene; Greene and Associates Talent Agency (acting school), and MTV, and on the set of the Kathy Griffith Show. Leila helped unleash the artist with in NishaReece by giving her an opportunity to speak her pain, her thoughts, and her emotions to young youth just like her. Giving her the power to use her voice in a positive way. NIshaReece achieved self awareness and self strength through helping others. NishaReece has a belief that she can help other's through her own pain. Music heals the soul. Words ease your mind. NishaReece puts words and music together to heal the soul and the mind. Now residing in Rocky Mount, NC taking a hi-aides from the city life that would of chocked and stifled her to death to get a taste of the country life, she has now developed more friends colleagues and partnerships in the industry. Working out of Main Event Studio's with J. Manifest Wiggins who has introduced her to the likes of Jim Jone's and various other artists, producers, and entertainers. NishaReece has broadened her horizons she is now a teammate on the North Carolina Bull City slam team. Her and her team travel and participate in contests and slams around the country. She is a ghost writer for various artists and the voice for many hooks heard up and down the east coast. Her hard work dedication and work ethics provide the opportunity for her to venture many endeavors concerning music and entertainment. She performs and has performed for various radio stations poetry slams, American Idol, Winning The Last Poet Standing contest, and various other contests and shows, hosted and thrown by local malls, t.v. stations, and radio stations such as Soul 92.1, Coast 97.3, Power 95.5 and other broadcasting networks. She has been a Co-Host for Video Live with Terry Batts, performed at Various venues and Festivals, including the Harambee Jazz Festival. NishaReece is getting it in. This hard working individual is aiming for beyond the stars she is going for the Unisverse. Her motto and saying Is " I Am Here". She most definitely is here. This soft spoken songstress, poet-test, self proclaimed chef and producer is full of talent and full of surprises. She intends to use all of her artistic skills to take her to heights unimaginable. People have been sleeping on this young lady because she isn't the conventional artist or entertainer, she is totally out side of the box and people don't know whether to love or hate her: but they have no choice to listen to her unique voice and unique style. In a few I'm sure you are going to be hearing her name all over the world. Her talents goals and dreams will fill an international market so stylishly, outrageous, that this humble, sexy and seductive swagerific Songstress will engulf hearts souls and minds for many years to come.
