John and David Kirkland (keys and vocals) were childhood friends growing up on the same street, but did not start making music together until they were Freshmen in college. Edgar and Pedro (lead guitar and bass, both vocals) later followed, bringing a variety of influences with them from the likes of artists ranging from Simon and Garfunkel to Led Zepplin to John Mayer. Drummer Adam Johnson left his former band who had a contract with Sony to be with the Costigans. The influences of The Costigans range far and wide, but their definition of success is a common thread: once their music is heard around the world, they will consider their goal met.
