“In 2011, prepare to Join Our Revolution” What happens when a French band and a major British producer get holed up for six weeks in a Belgian recording studio? Add on the backing of an Asian financial investor group and you obviously get a unique body of work. Driven by frontman Cyril Niccolai’s vision, The Fairchilds is a seamless blend of classic rock influences infused with trademark British edginess and an up yours attitude. Jim Lowe, acclaimed in particular for producing Stereophonics, was enticed to work with the band even before they got a record deal. Jim’s DNA finessed the international dimension to the album. The result is a captivating set of 12 songs of varying moods, ranging from haunting ballads to fun singalong rock anthems. It however keeps close to its rock and roll roots and makes no bones about its objective to be shared live. “Our Revolution”, the first single of the album, is an acidic statement on modern society and the contradictions therein. The technological advances in recent years and successive winds of “change” have failed to make a difference to primal human needs and wants. The sets and characters have changed but the storyline remains the same. So prepare to Join Our Revolution and experience firsthand this provoking new music journey.
