A little purple monkey swinging in the air, hanging on its tail, stretches, curious. This is the logo of TheGrOOming, an elettronic music band, consisting of the talent of Italian musicians Paolo Girelli (Bass) and Giacomo Vanelli (DJ, Synth). A little purple monkey swinging in the air, hanging on its tail, stretches, curious. This is the logo of TheGrOOming, an elettronic music band, consisting of the talent of Italian musicians Paolo Girelli (Bass) and Giacomo Vanelli (DJ, Synth). Born in 2007, they take inspiration from the Bristol Sound: Tricky, Portishead, Massive Attack. It's a creative journey among music, originality and trend, constantly enriched thanks to the support of artists such as Diego Bartole (Drums) and Daniele Falletta (Guitar), in a multi-form set of projections and video performances, in which colors and sounds blend together. Longing for new forms of artistic expression and spreading, the band takes its name from the self¬mutual cleaning of some species of primates. Musically speaking, it becomes ara incredibly creative and interactive music lab. Melodies and images melt together; the result is an artistic crew in which musicians, dancers, actors, authors, producers, graphics and filmmakers use all of their skills to enhance the emotive impact of the band. This musical experience is completed by excellent collaborations: Meme Galbusera (RdB), Luca Solbiati (The Filmakers), Marinella Mastrosimone (Musetta), Emyl and Zoe Vincenti. They alternate both in studio and on stage, portraying sweetness, darkness, sensuality, desperation, decadence, denunce. Lyrics originate spontaneously, unconsciously in an interior monologue, linked up with a melody; in ape-ish English, made of sounds and improvised words, a dream language logically reorganized in sentences only afterwards; sensations, passions and feelings all converge in this stream of consciousness; emotion becomes lyrics Since the beginning, The GrOOming piqued the interest and curiosity of a large number of people, from Milan to Faenza at the MEI (Indipendent Labels' Meeting) Outside Italy they performed for the "Fete de la Musique" in Paris and in a USA tour, including New York, Philadelphia and Boston. Winners of the Nokia Trend Lab, winners of the Best Live act Award in "Mind the Band", organized by Televisionet, The GrOOming have recently participated in a RadioRai broadcast, "Demo", and are currently in the "Music Think Tank" international award finals. 2010 opens as an important year for the band, promising success and novelties.
