The Grumpy is a power trio based out of California’s sunny capital of Sacramento. Multi-instrumentalist/composer/vocalist Cameron leads the band on their journey through the infinite musical domain, supported by J.W. Brooks on drums and Justin “Tach” Taylor on bass. Originally formed in 1999, The Grumpy has been on an ever-evolving journey to come to where it is today. Composing in a boundless musical world, the band can be counted on to deliver a wide variety of tasteful musical styles, ranging from rock and blues to country and folk. Recognized by national publications as “Top 100 Unsigned Acts in America” and receiving the 5th annual South Bay Music Award for Best Independent CD, The Grumpy has made themselves clear that they are, as one reporter put it, “A force to be reckoned with.” Presently, The Grumpy has five self-produced albums, the latest being the award winning Throes of Contemplation. Having spent the better part of 2007-2009 touring California, The Grumpy has become a welcome presence on some of the country’s most famous stages for live music and endeavors to continue a reputation for top-notch performance and songwriting.
