Their first demo was well received and gained much acclaim on both radio and TV in Spain as well as in the UK, and placed them winners and finalists in numerous national and regional 'Best New Band' competitions. During one of these
competitions they met American music producer Matthew Dela Pola who was on the judging panel. He knew that this was a new and fresh groovey sound, with undeniable charm and character, so he invited the "Monks" to his recording
studio, "the lab estudios" to record.
Since that time The Hippie Monks have packed the dance floors of every venue they have played, receiving rave reviews for not only their music but for their travelling circus style show.
