The Oxygen Fiends are a local West Viginia band, formed early 2006 under the name Brain Toast. After 2007 came around I was left without a drummer or bassist, so I started jamming with the local music scene. I keep a pretty open mind about music, so finding locals to jam with wasn't too hard. After about a year of playing around with whoever I could find: Reggae/Ska, Metal, Punk, Rock, Grunge, Techno, Hip-Hop, Acoustic, Funk, and even some Country bands, I decided it was time to reform the band. I haven't found a permanent drummer, but a few locals & friends have been recording with me as often as our scheduels would allow for. Early 2008, I renamed the band, some computer design team had our name, and in all fairness, had it first, when I wasn't even into the name in the first place. Thus came The Oxygen Fiends. Whenever I'm not recording with drummers, I'm attempting acoustic recordings and cover songs, and brushing up on some piano songs, although, I am in no way a singer, or piano player at that, so I try to keep from posting too many songs I sing in, or covered with vocals. Influences pretty much fall over everything, life in general influences our music, whether it have meaning or if it's just us being idiots. We have a myspace, but it's mainly used for keeping in contact with friends and other local bands, this site seemed a more practical way to spread our music. We also have 2 albums, which were kept between the band members and a few friends; We're Too Talentless For An Album, which consisted of all original songs and random recordings taken before and after sessions, and Cover Songs, which consisted of 28 cover songs recorded in our garages, bedrooms, and at backyard shows. Honestly, in no way do I intend or plan to "make it big" from my music. We play to have fun and do what we love, but I can't say it hasn't been totally rad opening for some of the bands that actually pass through WV and play a gig, instead of avoiding us like a disease.
