From political songs about current events, or his humorous take on the music industry. The Poet Trees is all about keeping his brand of hip hop funky and fresh. Trees is a true lyricist that strays away from being called a rapper. He considers himself a poet. Never rhyming about how he is shooting his guns or bragging about how much ice he has. His word play and vocabulary skills are what sets him apart from your average MC. “I’ve always been influenced by real hip hop” says Trees. “I owe is to myself and everyone that came before me to be real on the mic. No faking. I take this seriously, it just not a hobby to me”. Erik Fallat a.k.a The Poet Trees was born and raised in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. He started free styling 6 years ago, and put out three freestyle CD's before he even picked up a pen. Until finally he decided to write his first song, entitled Dreams, This Cam'ron style track was picked up by a video producer who worked with Swollen Members for Lady Venom and was sent in to Much Music for a Video fact grant. Unfortunately the video grant went to Kardinall Official. That did not discourage Trees at all; it just made him work that much harder. At the moment he is making a name for himself on the mix tape scene. Appearing on Mix tapes hosted by; Pharrell, Styles P, Juelz Santana, Swizz Beats, & Freeway. He is also a mainstay on all the Project pain hip hop shows as well as performing at the In the soil music festival, and the SCENE music festival. Keeping you hooked with his lyrics and his booming voice. The poet Trees is on the right track in his life long quest to bring real hip hop back to the people. “At the end of the day I know I can sit back and be happy with the fact I will not compromise my pride and integrity for anyone”.
