Welcome to The Raft experience! The Raft is a six-piece rock-funk-reggae band from Westfield, Massachusetts. Formed in the winter of 2009, The Raft works hard to create original music with roots in R&B, Rock and Roll, Reggae, as well as Jazz and Funk. Some of their biggest influences include artists such as Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, Aerosmith, Gruvis Malt, Jay-Z and Lauryn Hill, yet it is very important to them to have a distinct, unique sound.
The Raft has been in the studio over the last few months working on their first full length CD, always living by their motto “music first.” However, working in the studio has not kept The Raft from continuing to play live shows. The band has played at a variety of different venues yet they are always looking to add to their fan base by playing new venues and impressing the local scene by putting on shows that the audience will remember.
The Raft has a very open outlook on music and is always interested in meeting new musicians to team up and perform with. They are always happy to be part of a good line-up with multiple talented musicians and artists. Some of their favorite bands to perform with include Rubblebucket, Tidwell's Treasure, Fear Nuttin’ Band, Danny Pease and the Regulators, Lifted, Doctor Doom Orchestra, Timbre Coup, and Wolfman Conspiracy.
