Under Water is the passion project of singer/songwriter Erin Hickman. Erin started her musical education at an early age; studying jazz vocals and dabbling in stringed instruments. At age 17 she went on to write and independently record her first EP, Adieus. Erin's latest, and most ambitious musical adventures began in 2008, when she began experimenting with little instruments and tender harmonies, affectionately known as "Under Water." Under Water has since developed into many shapes, including lively performances and intimate recordings--such as the 2010 EP "Vestibule." Under Water is persistently attempting to define a new genre of music. With a sound born somewhere between Los Angeles and Hawaii, Under Water combines the unique and bright tones of ukulele-driven, folk melodies, with rich, haunting vocals reminiscent of Billie Holiday and Jolie Holland. Under Water is currently recording and performing in Los Angeles, CA.
