Band History:
The Jones was formed in 2001 with former members of Up From Thieves and Izzy Deadyet, two Eastern NC local bands. Our sound is equal parts blues, rock, and punk; immediate and raw, and at the same time, multidimensional.
We want to bring the spirit that gave birth to rock-n-roll into the modern age and give it a new edge. With powerhouse vocals(Billy stallings), roaring guitar(Tony Byrd), and a seething rhythm section(courtesy of Darren Brinkley on bass and Jeff Kennedy on drums), we create enrgy between the audiecnce and ourselves and give the music new life
The Notorius Jones has appearred in various venues in NC and SC, including the Hard Rock Cafe in Myrtle Beach. The group is also regularly played on 99.5 WXNR's "local 99" and was their featured artist on 8-18-2002. The first CD is currently in the works.
