It all started in the summer of '07, When 19 year olds Mike Smith and Mike McCarthy persuaded thier younger brother Matt McCarthy that the 3 should start a band, Named The Message. It all started in the summer of '07, When 19 year olds Mike Smith and Mike McCarthy persuaded thier younger brother Matt McCarthy that the 3 should start a band, Named The Message. They continued on this way for awhile, until an oppurtunity came along. Now lead guitarist, David Duffield, came to visit one weekend at the beginning of summer, a few months before school ended. Matt and David were friends from school who both loved music, so David brought his guitar and they recorded some B.S. songs for fun. When Matt's brother, Mike, came home, They decided to write and record a new song, Living a Lie, David's 1st song. The next day , the 4 bonded on the way to Guitar Center where Matt replaced his broken Les Paul. The next monday of school, Mike told Matt to ask David if he would like to join the band. He of course said yes, and after that came A new name, 100's of recordings and a couple show's. Now we are fighting as one to accomplish this album once and for all and start a fan base so we can try to go somewhere with our music. Early winter of '08, Mike Kimak came to visit best friends, Matt and David, and just hang out. Mike was, in the past, lead guitarist for the band Apocalypse where David was the drummer, and decided he would just help the band out and lay down bass-lines on tracks for us, but now has acquired more of a love for bass than guitar
