DJ Diggler A.K.A. Mike Regan Born in Sacramento CA, Mike Regan has been heavily influenced by music his whole life. “I can remember doing yard work with my father on the weekends. We used to listen to the sounds of Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Glen Miller and Benny Goodman. My brother and I would wash his car while listening to such classic rock artists as The Who, The Doors, Led Zepplin, Bozz Scaggs and Peter Frampton. I was completely unaware that all of this manual labor was shaping my future." Mike’s 1st gig was playing 45’s at Sunrise Rollerland. It was here that he began shaping his skills playing 80’s hits like Madonna, Duran Duran, Roger and Zapp, Soul Sonic Force, The Gap Band and many more. In the late 80’s, armed with a fake I.D., Mike and his older brothers would party and dance at Black Angus, Bobby McGee’s, Bombay Bicycle Club and Baxters (sometimes all in the same night). Although those nights were a blur, he would always remember the music. It was through those hangovers that Mike would find his calling. It’s now the early 90’s, when Sacramento’s infamous Paradise Beach Club comes to town. There he plays for a crowd of 1,200 to 1,500, playing club hits like Madonna, Prince, Michael Jackson, Robin S., Ce Ce Peniston, US3, C&C Music Factory and Lisa Lisa. It wouldn’t be until the mid-90’s that friends would introduce him to a wondrous place called San Francisco. First stop: 1015 Folsom (The Release), "I had died and gone to heaven." Last stop: the End UP for after hours on Sunday morning. So inspired by something he never had experienced in Sacramento, it redefined him as a DJ. Sacramento’s club scene, however, was not accustomed to, or maybe even ready for, an S.F. style club DJ, but it became Mike’s ambition to bring it home. It was then that he created "The G Spot." The G Spot was an S.F. style nightclub inside a large restaurant. Inspired by DJ Dan he played tracks from artists like Josh Wink, Danny Tenaglia, DJ Icey, Armond Van Helden and Eddie Amador. The G Spot was Sacramento’s version of Studio 54 (in every aspect). It was here that they began to call him DJ Diggler. To no surprise, the G Spot was short lived! Now notorious for crazy parties and living up to his new name, his next venture "Aftermath," would take it to a whole new level. This was the first official after-hours club for Sacramento (2am-6am). Aftermath, located inside a strip club, brought an entirely new element to Sacramento’s club scene. I think you get the point. The next obvious move was to make the transition to a larger market that would support this type of DJ. Since then he has played at Release (1015 Folsom, SF), The WET Party (Phoenix Hotel, SF), SQUARE (Ruby Skye, SF), Pure Tuesdays (Rage, Sac), Fresh Fridays (Tower Club, Sac), Gigabeatz massive (Sac) and the list goes on... DJ Diggler held residencies at the annual massive SFNYE Superior Bash (SF) and was a regular fixture on F.T.T.'s (Funky Tekno Tribe’s) roster for the massive Organic parties (Ibiza Resort Hotel, Oakland).
