Yah Derrty Zo (born Lorenzo A. Brooks Jr in St. Louis, MO), is a versatile Hip-Hop artist. His verbiage and content consist of dance, streets, positive, soul, and R&B. He doesn’t conform himself to one style, he explores all dimensions of Hip-Hop. He was given the title by the city of St. Louis as Mr. N da Streets, because he is always on the scene of current events promoting himself as an artist, networking his music, politicking with the general public, and just staying busy. He states that his goal in Hip-Hop is to support St. Louis and inspire those who have lost focus and faith in their dreams, to demonstrate to them that anything is possible as long as you BELIEVE (I AM).
At this moment in time Yah Derrty Zo is transitioning himself from a radio personality to a solo artist. He has already established him-self and gained the respect from his fellow peers in the radio world. He views radio as a great opportunity to have and not to be down played or taken for granted, because it is a hard industry to tap into and it is a blessing to have. But he also views radio as a stepping stone in his journey to becoming a successful hip hop artist. He believes to have struck gold with his new single TRIPPLE STEP. It has a catchy hook, production is nice, lyrics are well written, and overall it is a well put together song. He has put together a well working plan to get his single out into the public hands and into the attention of eyes that want to recognize a potential success story in the making. The song has already started taking off in the St. Louis area. The song has reached 40 plus spins and still growing and it was just added to mix shows in middle October ’07. The song was also ranked number 264 out of 300 songs of all the songs played in 2007. In majority of all club events the song has a good response. This song definitely has potential to be the one of the biggest songs of 2008. TRIPPLE STEP is only the beginning he also has other songs that could be potential hit songs in his endeavors to success.
