My name is Mark Brazier and I am a solo artist born and raised in Muskoka . In my earlier years growing up I was always the kid in the corner who would keep to himself and would never have much to say. I lived a pretty normal life until my father passed away when I was the age of seven. Since then life has been a bit of a roller coaster. After the death of my father I developed feelings I never knew existed and I was full of questions without answers. I learned to harness these feelings and move on. I have always been searching for that one thing that makes me happy. I have found many things that can do that but it wasn’t until I discovered the power of music and what it could do for me, and the people around me. I received my first instrument in grade eight which was a fender strat electric guitar. I put it in my closet for a year. Grade nine came around, and I attended an open mic. I watched many performances and was blown away by the sounds and emotion coming from this very instrument that was at home in my closet collecting dust. I went home from school that night with a fire inside. I was determined to mimic what I had heard. It didn’t happen over night but in time I taught myself to play guitar through pure determination. I was on my way. Years passed and I had experimented with many different sounds until I found my true sound the sound of Yesterday’s Silhouette. I didn’t stop there though I then taught myself with the same determination to play many other instruments such as drums bass keyboard and I even learned to use my voice as an instrument. Growing up in beautiful Muskoka has helped with my creativity and my style. There is inspiration everywhere like the sun setting and rising over lake muskoka, the starry sky, the smell of the clean refreshing crisp morning air, the colorful changing leaves in the fall, or the snow covered branches in the winter, or even the sound of the birds chirping. Anything can be inspiring. I love what I do and I don’t think I could ever stop. If I can make one persons life happier, or have any sort of positive impact in their life then I have done my job. Life is what you make of it, and everyone can contribute in some way or form. Yesterday I was nothing more than a silhouette, unseen by the world, but now that you’ve read this and you know my story I am who I am, nothing more, and nothing less. I am Yesterday’s Silhouette, and you could be too.
