BIOGRAPHY Connecticut native Demar Hopkins, better known by his stage name Yung D, started his rap career at the young age of 9. Often skipping class to gather with friends to write cold verses and compose soul full productions. Yung D, now 21 years old and a full- time student at Full Sail University used his experience to form his own business company, Connecticut People Record. Commonly known for his word play and creative lyrics, Yung D has developed himself as a multi-talented artist also producing, engineering and composing for his and other artist professional creative works. In 2007, Yung D put out a mix tape entitled Yung and the Restless, in 2009 and 2010 Yung D grew popular in the small city of Hartford, Ct, when he released his second and third mix tape, Hustle or Starve and Pre-Amp 1 and 2. Yung D primary goal was to orchestra unions were artist of all kind living in the Connecticut area could collaborate and impact the music world. This is what fueled Yung D to start up his own record label, Connecticut People Records with the help from his best friend and fellow Connecticut native Kamaal Lowen aka Kamoflage, CPR was up and running. Shortly after CPR took off Yung D decided to gain more knowledge of the entertainment business so, he enrolled in Full Sail University and started adding more experience members to his staff. Growing up as an only child with his mother and father, Yung D grew fond of old school classics like the O’Jays and Curtis Mayfield so all of his music has an old school feel. The year 2011 is set to be major for C.P.R with the release of Yung D’s new album called “ Full Sail Vol. 3.” Yung D has been making an impact throughout the hip hop community with his rap lyrics but expects to make a greater impact through his business ventures, which include CPR. Confident and ready to take the world by storm Yung D credits his family for there support in a recent interview with industrynetwork.blogspot.com Yung D stated, “ My family is the most honest to me, they always told me that I can be whatever I wanted to be and if you don’t have the tools and resources now just be patient because everything happens for a reason. Yung D then went on to say; “I do this for my hard working mother. I want to be well off where my whole family has never to worry again about anything.”
