Lyrics

I'm home... in a bed surrounded by sports stars that climb across the walls. My eyes drift as a baseball player dives endlessly for a fly ball, then reappears where he began. A hockey player frozen mid shot, yet sliding toward the ceiling. Again... and again. Moving... but not moving. Suddenly I'm staring into the massive eyes of a giant bird, his head perched above me. WBB: Things are bigger than they seem and you are smaller than you think. I can't move, but I'm not scared. I'm awake... alive... ready. The bird is morphing. Constantly changing... never the same color in the same place. It's somehow strange and comforting at the same time. Gradually, the room becomes focused... I notice the bird's black feet... his twisted beak... and the impending shadow it casts on the wall. The warped bird raises a mesmerizing wing. WBB: Eeeeeeeeeeyes Cloooooooose. My eyes begin to close as he lowers his melting wing. The world washes away to darkness. WBB: The atoms of the world are constantly in motion. Far off in the distance I see a horizon; a golden glow lights up the sky beyond. The color is magnificent... life-changing. It grows to an unbearable size, then surrounds me in an instant. An ocean of sand.... as far as I can see. How many grains of sand have there ever been? Infinite? All unique, but the same. The desert continues to rush by, showing it's endless magnitude. Finally, the world begins to slow... then stops. I look closely at each grain of sand, searching for meaning. They all look the same; it's like staring at an optical illusion. Then I see it... a seed among the grains. It slowly stirs, ready to create life in these bizarre circumstances. A hearty green stem pushes it's way up in drastic contrast to the surrounding scenery. Leaves... thorns... and finally bright red luminous pedals. WBB: The human race is but a single rose thriving in the desert of existence. The rose grows stronger, and more brilliant... then quickly melts away into a kaleidoscope of shapes and colors. WBB: It was here before... and it will be here after. The desert falls away as I rise above all that I know. The sand becomes a continent, the continent becomes the Earth. I stare in awe at the wonder that is home. A faint rose begins to materialize from the heart of the Earth. WBB: All of humanity equates to a single drop in the ocean of time. The world begins to swirl and fade. WBB: A drop in the ocean of time. A drop in the ocean of time.
