PhiL (PhiLip Bell) from Memphis, Tennessee is very proud of his roots. The youngest of three and often reminded by his mother that she and his "Pa" planned his brothers but they were blessed with him! PhiL' s older brother encouraged him to get in the choir, drama club & band to get girlfriends. It was that crazy mission that caused him to find his passion for performance. He graduated from Watkins Overton High School of Performing Arts where he majored in music and was a member of award winning Overton choirs, the gospel, madrigals, concert & his personal favorite the show choir. PhiL has traveled abroad performing in the Mardi Grais in Nice France and as featured singer with Motown Cafe in Sendai Japan. It was his late vocal coach Dini Clarke who convinced PhiL put together a tribute concert called "Chillin' wit PhiL" honoring Cab Calloway, Donny Hathaway, Johnny Mathis & Harry Belafante. Chazz Falkner of Fre$h Records asked if he would record one of his songs “Every Thought”. He agreed and it won 1st place in a local talent show with the duo group Phil n' Fresco. It followed with the booking of a national Oreo cookie commercial. Things started to move fast with performances all over in local talent shows parties etc. Unfortunately egos began to clash and the duo went separate ways. PhiL with producer Chazz were determined to complete the project! "The music represents my all of me," PhiL says. My southern roots and my friends of every culture age and you name it! People, music, unite!" "U PhiL Me?"
