As a thriving city, Detroit was once known as the premiere city for cars & music, being home to the “Big Three” automotive companies & Motown Records. When the “Big Three” decided to leave the city for suburban pastures, it crippled the cities economy, a move the city has yet to recover from. Motown Records, once home to The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, and The Jackson 5, moved to Los Angeles in the ‘70s and Detroit’s once revered music scene has declined. As the city attempts to get on its feet financially, NoN has emerged to recapture the cities once faded musical glory.      Following the successful reception to his latest mixtape, “Hello Young World”, NoN decided it was time to focus on making an album.  With the goal of making quality relevant music that spoke for the current era of rap, without sacrificing lyricism, that could also stand the test of time like the music of Detroit’s past.  After months in the studio recording and receiving production from Rill, Ace Boogie, Amere Dream, Epik Tha Dawn and many other producers, “The New Motown” was created.                 Musically, NoN showcased his polished lyricism and versatility while touching on a wide array of topics. The song “Where We Wanna Go” displays the turbulence a relationship can endure while pursuing your dreams, while the mid-tempo anthem “Naked” touches on the false relationships that come with success.  The song  “Go Thru Me” is a bold statement to all rappers while highlighting his lyrical capability and the track “Devil” pushes the envelope on his relationship with money. Overall, “The New Motown” is a successful debut that proves to be a great first step towards a promising career. N.o.N..NOW OR NEVER...
