Just Real is an award-winning recording artist/producer, based in Orlando, FL. Most recently he has worked on projects with top 40 recording artist Flo Rida, r&b sensation Sean McGee, and S Dot Fire of We Da Best Music Group. Just Real has been featured in Funcoast Magazine, Orlando Live internet television show, and Soul Of Da City showcase series (as a guest host). In 2010 he signed on as an official audio producer of the Arena Football League’s Orlando Predators. That same year Just Real won the AmericasDay.com debut artist contest. In 2009 he was interviewed as a featured producer on TheHigherPlane.net. Formerly a professional percussionist; Just Real’s clients included Kanye West, Michael Bolton, Prince, Jamie Foxx, the Firelands Symphony, and many more. He performed along side Kanye and Jamie at the 48th annual Grammy Awards to the re-recording of the hit record Gold Digger (on which Just Real did contribute). All his successes could only be natural due to the fact that Just Real was trained in the art of music from an early age. A native of Sandusky, Ohio; Just Real became interested in instrumental music, as his mother and grandparents were continuously involved in marching bands and drum corps. His grandparents hold an Ohio Civil Rights award for their work with drum corps, and it was thanks to his grandfather that Just Real picked up a drum in the 1st place. Just Real began intense instrumental studies at the age of 12, but these studies were somewhat offset by a love for a more mainstream type of music. As a product of an abusive home-life and later, a single-parent home, Just Real searched for a way to vent his pain beyond instrumental music. Just Real’s love for hip-hop was sparked by his older sister's interest in artists like Da Brat, Bone Thugz, Will Smith, and The Notorious BIG. He first picked up a mic in the 8th grade. When onlookers began to laugh and downgrade his music, Just Real kept rhyming. That’s when things got tough. In spite of vast local recognition, Just Real became discouraged around his junior year of high school and gave up rhyming before he went to college. He focused on instrumental music during this time and had much success. During this period Just Real began to feel as though something in his heart was missing, so he spoke to God. In 2007 Just decided to leave instrumental music behind and chase his dream of becoming a major player in today's music industry. He picked the mic back up, reinvented himself, and has been tearing apart the competition ever since. Just Real says his greatest inspirations are his late mother and late grandfather. He says that they always encouraged the youth by setting a great example. Just Real wants to be the example for those who experience adversity and dare to dream big. His music speaks to a vast audience, ranging from the lonely at heart to the madly in-love and from the spiritually lost to the politically enraged. Just Real’s music has always served a greater purpose and those who listen know this. He has always been Just Real.
