“You don’t write songs; songs write you,” is one of Brittany Moses’ favorite quotes, which she adopted from a friend. Its message is certainly one that Brittany takes to heart when penning her soulful, introspective music. Hailing from the small town of Bethany, Missouri, but bred in Houston, Texas, Brittany’s music takes on a style of its own. With songs like “Setting Myself Up For A Heartbreak” and “More Than That” in her repertoire, Brittany is poised to develop into a songwriter to be reckoned with. While finishing her degree in Music Business at Middle Tennessee State University, a school located near the songwriting capital, Nashville, Brittany honed in on her songwriting skills and gained valuable performance experience. She was chosen as one of the top songwriters in her songwriting program to perform at “Hot On The Row” for four consecutive semesters. She also was chosen to attend ASCAP’s Pop Songwriter Workshop. She has played at some of the world’s most preeminent clubs and venues like The Bluebird Café, The Listening Room, The Rutledge, 12th and Porter, 3rd and Lindsley, Hotel Indigo, and various other venues, just to name a few. Music has always been a part of Brittany’s life in one way or another. Her musical upbringing included a talented singer/songwriter father and a grandfather who owned night clubs in Houston in the 1970s. She’s been singing for as long as she can remember in choirs and doing musical theater throughout her childhood and teenage years. It wasn’t until she received her first guitar at nineteen, though, that the songs began pouring out of her.
Brittany recently moved to Houston, Texas. Be on the look out for updates of where she might playing locally or where she might be touring!
