Fighting the Influence is an Indie Rock band out of Fall River Massachusetts. Starting around January of 2007, a group of friends, Sandro Braga (drummer/lyricist) Pedro Braga (keyboards/vocals) and Junior Araujo (Guitars) decided to form Fighting the Influence after the break up of their Former band, SOS. After a few long months of searching for a fourth and final member, the band stumbled upon Lead singer/Front man Josh Pereira (The Josh Pereira Band, Josh Squared). The band played a few gigs as a four piece, but agreed that they wanted to bring on one more person into this musical project. The band tried out a few different people, but for one reason or another, no one was working out. FTI waitied patiently for the right person to come, and he did. After the addition of Yan Victoria on bass guitar, Fighting The Influence was ready to begin their journey, venturing out into the local scene, with their musical message of following your dreams and rising above society’s standards
The band has grown quite a bit since its formation. In September of 2007, FTI joined together with White Noise Records, and other local bands from the Southern Massachusetts and Rhode Island area to create a compilation album, called The Scene: Recorded Remixed Reborn, which was released December 14th at a CD Release Party at LUPOS HEARTBREAK HOTEL. The CD will soon be available in the Northeastern chain of FYE Stores.
