Ari Jacobson

Dubbed by fans as the “male Ani DiFranco”, Jacobson listened to Bob Dylan and Jeff Buckley as a child but never imagined – after learning guitar in high school solely to impress a girl – that he’d turn to music as a career.

After performing both as a musician and an actor throughout high school, the Haverhill, Massachusetts native attended UMass Amherst to further pursue his love of performance. Upon graduation, he moved to New York City where he established himself as a “performance Renaissance man,” breaking his way into the city’s arts scene, equally in theatre and music. All while earning his Actors’ Equity card, Jacobson was also writing Songs About You and playing at notable music venues.

Jacobson’s wide-ranging classical and jazz training resonates throughout his songwriting, with complex chord structures and fluid melodies, mixed with the rock ‘n roll influences he listened to growing up.
