Bigg Verb DaVinci is possibly the most well-rounded artist to surface in the hip-hop genre in quite some time. Although he is known around the globe for his mixtape, "The Greatest Beats of All Time" (
http://sharefileupload.com/files/1SGZEWUD/Greatest_Beats_of_All_Time_MASTERED_2_.zip)-which includes his highly controversial dis to Lil Wayne ("Black Elvis")-he has a reputation for making emotionally-charged tracks over instrumentals that are influenced by classic rock greats. His 2006 debut, "The Franchise", sold over 5,000 units independently and had airplay in several markets. Extremely versatile, he has: been featured on several mixtapes and compilations, been a club-battle champion, radio battle champion, had respectable employment as a "ghostwriter" for rock, hip hop and R & B artists, been a key-feature artist in three documentaries and is a respected engineer and producer.
Never one to make great music and sit back expecting a check, Bigg Verb DaVinci is the quintessential "working man". He has: Taken a $250 investment and made it into his city's most successful hip hop events' promotion company, managed artists, taught himself Search Engine Optimization, designed album covers and promotional materials for several artists and, is currently using his writing talents to put the finishing touches on a novel and a collaborative poetry book. (He's done plenty of work as a freelance writer/reviewer, as well).
Known to have an undeniable stage presence, he has rocked stages with a plethora of artists; including, but not limited to: D-12, Bizzy Bone, Trina, Roy Jones Jr., The Wu-Tang Clan, B.G., Choppa City Records, Big Tigger, Royce Da 5'9", all of Big Proof's (D-12) label Ironfist, Detroit legend Dice, Slum Village, Rah Digga and even Britney Spears! He was also the artist that clearly stood out on the official Detroit remix of Lil Flip's platinum hit, "Game Over". Always showing versatility, he was even the co-creator of a style ("Hot Fusion") that blended gutter, hardcore hip hop rhymes with dark, rave-pumping, drum-and-bass instrumentals.
Appealing to the 'average person' via emotional anthems like "Cinderella Man" , "Everyday People" and "I'm Sorry" and "Destoyed" he is able to touch the hearts and enter the I-Pods of many different kinds of people! Growing up with a renowned blues guitarist for a father, he clearly has music in his bloodline; as well as a list of influences that give way to the obvious notion that can easily stand out from other rappers.
As a member of a group ("The Formula") and as a solo artist (Verbal the BattleCat, Bigg Verb, Bigg Verb DaVinci) he has proven all that there is to prove on a local level; even being nominated for several awards. Outside of the D, he has gained rotation on XM 66's "Swizz Beatz and Grafh Show" and Sirius Satellite radio--with freestyle tracks ALONE!
A grown man with a TRUE story to tell that nearly anyone can identify with...a consummate professional...a proven hit-maker...an MC possessing what is referred to as the "It Factor"...an artist with complete street credibility...a purveyor of punchlines that incite 'oohs' and 'aahs' everywhere he performs and a constantly-changing flow that can adapt to any beat, Bigg Verb DaVinci is CLEARLY ready to take that next step.
His current project is the mixtape, in which, he does some of the best hip hop beats complete justice (mentioned and linked to in first paragraph) is what he is currently pushing. However, he also has what he has called his "opus" roughly 70% finished. (An album entitled "Live From...Reality"). He also has a side group that has already turned some industry heads with fellow Detroit MC Hellusin8; even though the duo has only recorded their first three tracks together! ("Double Jep"). In that project, he is the street-hop half of a group that blends clever gangsta rap and horrorcore together.
One last note: Due to having children to raise and simply earning a living, he has done all of the aforementioned things with only about 20% of his full effort!
One-of-a-kind---in an industry full of complete parity and constant cloning, Bigg Verb DaVinci is a definite stand-out! He can be reached at his new myspace page:
